Appeal to Essex County Council’s Director of Environment and Climate Action First Name Surname Your email Subject Your message (optional) I am shocked by the lack of action by Colchester Borough Council to act on our ecological and climate emergency despite declaring a climate emergency, and as our County Council Director of Environmental and Climate Action, I am disappointed that you are not taking more drastic action to remove the Middlewick Ranges from the Colchester Borough Council local plan. By including this site in the plan you are making it a done deal and allowing the site to be destroyed more easily. By fighting with the residents to give the site the recognition and protection it deserves we will have more chance of acquiring it. I urge you to fight with us to make it a protected site and prevent development on it. Regardless of its ownership, the facts speak for themselves, it contains enough diversity to be classed as an SSSI, it is the largest remaining green space in Colchester and development on it will impact Colchester in terms of air quality, health and wellbeing, biodiversity, economic and safety. As our Director of Environmental and Climate Action, I believe you can do more to protect Colchester’s largest remaining Greenspace. I urge you to put pressure on Colchester Borough Council to remove the Middlewick Ranges from the local plan and help to ensure it is given protection. Thank you. Please confirm your postcode
